According to the rules of Government of India, it is mandatory (necessary) to pass out a Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) for the appointment of Teacher in any School (may be Central/State Government owned or undertaking), to teach the class of I to VIII.

The Department of School Education, Govt. of Punjab have a responsibility to conduct Teacher Eligibility Test (TET). Director of SCERT Punjab, Chandigarh invites Online applications from Indian Nationals for taking exam of Punjab State Teacher Eligibility Test (PSTET) - 2013.

Who Can Apply for PSTET ? (Education Qualification)
  • For Class I to V :- 10+2 or its equivalent with minimum of 50% marks in aggregate and 2 years Diploma in Elementary Education or 4 years Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.EI.Ed.)
  • For Class VI to VIII :- Graduate in any stream and Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.).
Exam Application Fee :- Rs. 500/- per paper (Rs.300/- per paper for SC/ST candidates) and the candidates who wants to take both papers (I to V class level and VI to VIII class level) have to pay Rs. 1000/- (Rs. 600/- for SC/ST candidates), through Bank Challan.

How to Apply :- Apply Online through TET Punjab website, on or before last date. After successful Online Application, send your Exam Application Fee with other documents at the below address on or before through ordinary post -

Syllabus of PSTET 2013 for Class I to V :- Test of Child Development and Pedagogy,  Mathematics, 2 Languages, and Environment Studies, each subject having 30 marks, and total marks is 150.

Syllabus of PSTET 2013 for Class VI to VIII :- Test of Child Development and Pedagogy,  2 Languages,  each subject having 30 marks, and specialize subject test of 60 marks.
